IMWORK 2026: Hadirkan Empat Praktisi Industri, Bahas Transformasi Digital dan Masa Depan Industri Berbasis AI

Palembang — The 8th Annual IMWORK 2026 Seminar once again served as a strategic forum for academics, practitioners, and industry leaders to exchange ideas on technological developments and the challenges of industrial transformation in the digital age. Focusing on the overarching theme of digital transformation from the perspective of today’s industry, the event was attended by participants from various regions, including Palembang, Jambi, Lampung, and Bengkulu.

This year’s IMWORK 2026 event received full support from Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and took place at the BSI Prioritas Sudirman Palembang seminar hall, a prestigious venue designed to foster cross-sector discussions and collaboration.
The seminar featured four expert speakers from various industrial and technology sectors who shared their experiences and perspectives on the direction of digital transformation and the development of smart industries. The event was moderated by Danny Mathew, M.Sc. (a lecturer at UNSRI and a researcher at COMNETS), who played a central role in facilitating the discussion among the four expert speakers. The first speaker, Iyoga Don Frima Tarigan, AVP Head of B2B Regional & Education at PT Indosat, presented on the topic “From Digital Transformation to AI Transformation.” In his presentation, he discussed the shift from digital transformation toward artificial intelligence (AI)-based transformation, which is playing an increasingly significant role in changing how organizations and industries operate.
Next, Rio Ananda Fitriansyah, AVP of Information Technology Services at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (PUSRI), presented on “Industrial Transformation,” discussing the application of information technology to support changes in industrial processes and governance. Meanwhile, Dr. Adi Saputra, Web Digital Software Architect at INA DIGITAL PERURI, presented on “Connected Journeys: Building Intelligent and Trusted Mobility Ecosystems,” highlighting the importance of developing intelligent, integrated, and trusted mobility ecosystems.
Complementing these perspectives, Bagus Rully Muttaqien, Director of Commercial at PT Inovasi Tjaraka Buana, presented a session titled “Beyond Connectivity: Enabling the Intelligent Industry.” This presentation highlighted the role of connectivity as a crucial foundation for building a smart industry capable of integrating various systems, devices, and business processes.

The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Fili Pratama, Director of Cooperation, Internationalization, and Alumni Affairs (DKIA) at UNSRI, who opened the event on behalf of the Vice Rector of UNSRI, along with other members of the UNSRI DKIA team. Also in attendance were Ocky Eka Dhanurwinarto, Branch Manager of BSI’s Palembang Sudirman Branch, and Dr. Syamsuryadi, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Computer Science (FASILKOM) UNSRI.
The participants’ enthusiasm was evident from the diverse range of institutions and companies that took part. According to the attendance list, the event was attended by representatives from PT Sumatera Prima Fibreboard, the South Sumatra Provincial Revenue Agency, OCBC, PT PUSRI, PT Flaz Cloud, PT Klowapedia, PT Indosat, Mynet, PT Semen Baturaja, as well as dozens of academics from various universities.
In addition to providing a discussion forum, IMWORK 2026 also featured a poster exhibition showcasing research findings and an exhibition of innovative products from several university laboratories. One highlight was the COMNETS Research Group from the Faculty of Computer Science (FASILKOM) at UNSRI, which showcased its SMART HEALTH CPS innovation—an example of technological development that integrates smart systems with healthcare needs.
This exhibition provided participants with an opportunity to see firsthand the results of academic research and innovations that have the potential for further development through collaboration with the industry. Thus, IMWORK serves not only as a forum for sharing knowledge but also as a space to bridge research ideas with the real-world needs of the industrial sector.
Through the hosting of this 8th annual seminar, IMWORK once again reaffirms the importance of collaboration between universities, industry, and technology providers in addressing the changing landscape of work and business processes resulting from advancements in AI and digital technology. The discussions held are expected to open new perspectives on how organizations can prepare their strategies, human resources, and technological infrastructure to face the industry of the future.

The
enthusiasm and feedback from participants serve as motivation for the organizers to present IMWORK next year on a larger scale, with more forward-looking content, and more in-depth discussions on the implementation of AI, intelligent systems, and the future of industrial management. It is hoped that IMWORK will continue to grow as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange capable of bridging academic innovation with the needs of industrial transformation in Indonesia.
