Presenting Smart Solutions for Democracy, Election Hoax Detection Research by Sayfudin, M.Kom. Featured at IES 2025

Active participation in international scientific forums continues to be demonstrated by researchers from COMNETS RG. This time, Sayfudin, M.Kom., one of the Doctoral Candidates with a concentration in Information Security, successfully presented his latest research results at a prestigious event.

Sayfudin appeared as a speaker at the International Electronics Symposium (IES) 2025, an annual international conference organized by the Surabaya State Electronics Polytechnic (PENS). The event lasted for three days, from August 5 to 7, 2025.

In his presentation session, Sayfudin presented a paper titled The New Model for Election Campaign Hoax Detection with Machine Learning. This research offers a new approach to combating the spread of hoaxes, which often occur during election campaigns. By utilizing sophisticated machine learning algorithms, the developed model is expected to be able to detect patterns of disinformation more accurately and in real-time, thereby supporting the creation of a healthier and more integrity-driven digital democracy ecosystem. The success of this paper in passing the selection process and being presented at IES 2025 shows that the research conducted under COMNETS RG is highly relevant to current social issues.
